Families are the single most important influence on a child's life and spiritual growth. We seek to partner with parents, grandparents, and families as their children grow and learn what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. We seek to provide experiences which are both fun and meaningful to help children learn about God, the Bible and Jesus Christ along with what it means to live as a Christian.
There are several opportunities each week for children to be involved in the life and work of the church.
8:08 am service - This come as you are, casual, worship service meets in the chapel and combines the traditional worship style with a laid-back attitude. Children from birth – age 4 are welcome in the nursery, if parents so choose, while older children are encouraged to worship with their parents. Worship bags with quiet, age appropriate activities are always available.
10:00 am service - This larger service includes traditional liturgy and music with our chancel choir and, on occasion, our children's choirs as well. The nursery is available for children 2 years old and under. All children are invited down front for a children’s moment during the service and worship bags are available for all ages. The worship bags contain age appropriate worship bulletins with activities and puzzles which relate to the sermon for the day.
Acolytes - Once kids reach 3rd grade, they are trained and have the opportunity to serve as acolytes in worship. We love it when our kids read the scriptures or serve as ushers, or greeters, as well.
Children’s Church - Except for 1st Sundays, following the children’s moment in the 10:00am service all kids age 3 through 2nd grade are invited upstairs for a special worship service all their own. The kids are separated into Preschool (3 & 4 year olds) and Kindergarten- 2nd grade. The kids help set up the altar table each week and get the space ready for worship. Then they learn about all different parts of a worship service as they sing and dance, hear Bible stories and enjoy crafts and other Bible related activities.

9:00 am - Classes begin at 9 o’clock on the top (3rd) floor of the church where children are engaged in learning about God, the Bible and living out their faith as disciples of Jesus. Kids are led through small group experiences by a wonderful group of volunteer teachers and helpers.
Preschoolers - meet with Lindsay Summers.
Elementary age kids (K-5) - meet in the "Purple room" every week with rotation of teachers. The teachers are Sara Just, Corey Summers, Chris and Lauren Kummer, and Mrs. Polly Lawson. Students are divided up in age-based groups to continue exploring the lesson.
We begin Wednesday evenings by sharing a meal together on the 2nd Floor. Dinner is served from 5:30 - 6:00 pm and is free for college students, youth and children. From there, the children gather by age group for fun Bible activities, games, crafts and music.

We have a variety of special events throughout the year. Some are just for fun so we can enjoy one another’s company. Others are designed to help us learn about and celebrate a special part of the church year. We also set aside times to help us grow closer to God and improve our life as disciples of Christ. Some of the events are just for children, some are for families to enjoy together and some are for the entire congregation.
In October you will find us celebrating Trunk or Treat. At the beginning of Advent, we have our Advent Fair and throughout the season we celebrate with our Children's Christmas musical, a birthday party for Jesus and participate in outreach and mission opportunities, as well.
Spring and Summer may have us holding parent/child events, having our Easter Festival, and celebrating at Vacation Bible School. Lots of fun things help us round out this special part of our Children's Ministries.
