State Street Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry of State Street United Methodist Church is a place where students 6th - 12th grade can come hang out, experience Christ’s love, and be accepted into our community. Students are welcomed to join us in any of our activities including meals, games, Bible studies, and other fun youth events! 

Our Guiding Principles:

• We believe that Youth Ministry ought to be family-centric. Families are the most important factor in the discipleship of young people. We aim to provide space, tools, and support for our parents, the primary disciplers.
• We believe that Youth Ministry ought to be integrated into the church - not separate from it. We aim to create experiences where our youth can form relationships with the members of our church, take on leadership roles, be mentored, and participate in "adult-church".
• We believe that Youth Ministry ought to be missional. Youth Ministry is as much ministry by youth as it is for youth. We aim to create opportunities to serve our neighbors in relational and reflective service opportunities.
• We believe that Youth Ministry ought to be restful. In the busy world our youth live in, our goal is to provide a space of rest (instead of giving them more things they have to do).
