Baptism

Baptism is a meaningful and memorable occasion — a sacrament of our faith. We baptize by sprinkling Holy Water and making the sign of the cross on the forehead with anointing oil to invite the presence of the Holy Spirit. The United Methodist Church recognizes baptisms from other faiths and churches and therefore does not re-baptize people. For infant baptisms, United Methodist Women place a rose on the altar for you to take home after the service. Baptisms can be scheduled for either of our Sunday worship services and need to be coordinated with our pastors.

GriefShare®

Grief Support

2024 Session TBA

GriefShare is a welcoming, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life’s most difficult experiences — you don’t have to go through the grieving process alone. If you’ve lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, you’ve probably found there are not many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.

This can be a confusing time of feeling isolated with questions about things you’ve never faced before.

GriefShare will help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding.

Funeral/
Memorial Services

We’re privileged to serve you before, during, and after the loss of a loved one. When a death is imminent, our pastors are honored to come pray with you. If there is time, please call the church at 512-266-9877 to let us know. (If calling after office hours, our voicemail will provide an emergency number to reach an on-call pastor.)

We will make every effort to have someone come to you. When a death has occurred, our pastors and staff will be honored to provide the funeral or memorial service for your loved one at our church, at the funeral home or graveside, depending on the family’s decision.

Contact our Funeral Service Coordinators. They will personally assist you with planning a service for your loved one. Christ is our hope for eternal life and we offer this hope to the surviving family and friends that their beloved is now in God’s eternal charge after the loss of a loved one. We encourage our members to use the forms provided below.

Weddings

Weddings are a ministry Lake Travis United Methodist Church (LTUMC) offers. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage and we wish you much joy and happiness!

We believe a wedding is a religious service — a Christian celebration of a couples love and commitment to each other and to God. Weddings are also a worship experience, involving family and friends who want to participate in a couple’s joy.

If you’re interested in having your wedding at LTUMC, please download our Wedding Guide below and contact our Wedding Coordinator, Danielle Lair.
