CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
For infants to 5th grade
“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for
the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14
Our Priority
Our priority for children is to provide the opportunity to grow closer to Jesus in a loving, safe and secure environment. Children are valued as active and vital participants in the life of our church family. The programs we offer are created to make a lasting impact in their day-to-day lives, even from a child’s earliest years.

On Sunday Mornings
UP TO AGE 3
Nursery open 9am-12pm
AGES 3 TO 5TH GRADE
—9am/11am FAITH QUEST (in Sanctuary til Kids Time, then to Kids Center, Room 8 w/ staff)
—10am KIDS WORSHIP (Kids Center, PRC)
All ages and classes will explore the same Bible story each Sunday morning.
FAITH QUEST During Sunday morning services (9am/11am), kids ages 3 years-5th grade will start in the Sanctuary with their parents (or guardians). After Kids Time, they'll be invited to follow staff to the Kids Center for Faith Quest to explore God’s love through games, crafts and more!
KIDS WORSHIP During 10am Sunday School hour, kids ages 3 years-5th grade are invited to the Kids Center to worship God and explore God’s great love for us. Kids will discover how their faith can grow into an integral part of their everyday lives.
If you prefer your kids stay in "big" Worship with you, we offer a couple of options…
—WORSHIP BAGS Located in the foyer, featuring paper, crayons, and fidget busters to keep little hands occupied. Please return at the end of Worship for other children to use.
—PRAYGROUND This space in the front of the Sanctuary is intended especially for families with infants and toddlers, recognizing that small kids are often more engaged when they can see what’s going on. Small tables and chairs, baby swings and seats, and soft toys help keep our littlest community members occupied.

At LTUMC, nothing is more important to us than the safety and security of your children. We’ve chosen KidCheck to bring you the best check-in experience and allow us to partner with you to keep your children safe. Prior to your first visit, you can

Big Faith invites children to explore their faith in the context of their everyday lives. Within each session, children will be introduced to a faith concept; will explore a Bible story together through storytelling and video; will participate in age-appropriate, hands-on activities; and will reflect on and share what they have learned with one another.
Big Faith helps children discover how their faith can grow into an integral part of their everyday lives. This curriculum honors children as naturally curious and spiritual beings, with an innate sense of God’s presence. Through timeless Bible stories, hands-on activities, and child-friendly themes, Big Faith helps children discover, develop, and practice their faith in a trusted community.

Calling all 2nd-5th graders and adults!
We’ve launched a penpal experience for those who’d like to build relationships and share life together through letters and activities! A child will be paired with an adult to correspond through old-fashioned letters and a quarterly in-person activity. If you’re interested in learning more about this opportunity or to sign up, please email Danielle Lair (danielle.lair@ltumc.org). Adults must be Safe Gatherings® approved.

Maundy Thursday
PRAYER WALK: 5:30pm • Kids Ctr
WORSHIP: 6:30pm • Worship Ctr
Our Prayer Path is an interactive, multi-sensory, spiritual experience exploring some of the events of Holy Week. Designed for all ages and will begin in the Kids Center!
Then stay for Maundy Thursday Worship, which witnesses to the sacrificial love of Jesus in the symbolic act of foot washing. Our service will include Scripture, song, prayer, Communion, and the opportunity to experience feet washing (a symbolic act, not a full foot scrub and not required). A family station will be available for those that want to experience this with each other.

Easter Sunday
7am: Sunrise Service (Activity Ctr prkg)
9am: Traditional Service (Worship Ctr)
10am: Easter Brunch (Activity Ctr gym)
11am: Modern Service (Worship Ctr)
On Easter Sunday, we celebrate the good news that Hope is Alive! We rejoice as we put our trust in the One who will heal and repair all that is broken. On Easter, we are reminded that our search for meaning and purpose in this life are ultimately fulfilled in a search for love — more specifically, in a search for the One who is Love. Our search becomes satisfied when we recognize that the One who is Love has been searching for us all along. PARENTS, please note Kids Worship will not meet at 10am; everyone is invited to Easter Brunch in the Activity Center gym!
